India’s youngest and the third largest tractor brand, Sonalika International Tractors Ltd, emerges a leader in > 50 HP category by selling 254 tractors during April- July. In West Bengal, Sonalika ITL registered a strong growth in volumes of 1278 units and increase in market share to 17.2 per cent from April to July this year as against 1084 units with a market share of 16.2 per cent for the same period last year.
In the eastern region, the company has recorded volume growth of 18 per cent which is more than the industry this year till date. Sonalika ITL holds the second position among the tractor brands in West Bengal in April- July. The company also registered as the number one tractor manufacturing company in > 50 HP segment category for the month of June. As per the data released by TMA – an authorised body of India Tractor Manufacturing Companies.
Munish Kumar, Senior Vice- President, Marketing & Sales, Sonalika ITL, said: “West Bengal is an important market in the east for Sonalika ITL, owing to the state being a largely agricultural economy with 96 per cent of the 7.23 lakh farm families being marginal and small farmers. Customer-centricity is at the core of what we do and we strive to provide highest quality products to our farmers in India and globally, adept to needs of agriculture community.
To further empower the rural youth and farmers, we have set up a skill center in West Bengal. This center provides agriculture related skills such as technological advancement in farming, farm mechanization etc. along with running various awareness programs for farmers.”
Sonalika has a vast dealer network of 900+ dealers across India accompanied with one of the largest stockiest network of 300+ stockiest in India. In the eastern region, the company have 10 district level stockiest.
Recently, Sonalika ITL inaugurated an integrated tractor manufacturing plant in Hoshiarpur, Punjab. The plant is spread across an area of more than 85 acres and is fully equipped to manufacture 3 lakh units with a roll out time of around 2 minutes. Given its scale and production capacity, the Japan major, Yanmar has partnered with Sonalika and will gets its global tractors manufactured in this plant.
