Maserati Makes Its Mark At The 2025 Goodwood Festival Of Speed

A memorable edition of the Goodwood Festival of Speed draws to a close, and Maserati bids farewell to the British public after four days celebrating Italian excellence. Amidst the world-bests, the Trident captivated motorsport fans with a charismatic and high-adrenaline presence, track runs, world premieres, and a paddock showcasing the very best of luxury and performance.

Among the standout highlights was the debut of the new MCPURA Super Sports Car, the purest expression of Maserati’s performance-driven philosophy, which was unveiled on Thursday, 10 July.

The MCPURA takes the spirit of the MC20 and elevates it, bringing it to its most intense and refined form. Available immediately in both coupé and convertible versions (the latter dubbed MCPURA Cielo) this new model features four defining elements: a carbon fiber monocoque, the iconic Nettuno V6 engine with a patented pre-chamber combustion technology, the “Butterfly” doors, and the retractable electrochromic glass roof for the cabrio version.

In terms of dynamics, it was the Maserati GT2 Stradale that stole the show, lighting up the legendary Hillclimb with its deep, magnetic sound—delivered by a brand-new racing exhaust system. Its mechanical symphony electrified the crowd, turning each run into a visceral experience. Born directly from Maserati’s expertise on international racetracks, the GT2 Stradale is the road-legal version of the iconic GT2 race car that marked Maserati’s return to victory in GT championships.

The extraordinary roar came from a new racing exhaust system developed by Maserati Corse in collaboration with TubiStyle, a benchmark in high-performance exhaust and supplier of the original system for the legendary MC12. Built exclusively for track use and crafted from high quality titanium, the new system reduces weight by 7 kilograms compared to the standard setup, enhancing the car’s dynamic capabilities even further.

Every component is welded by hand to the highest artisanal standards, reflecting Maserati’s commitment to technical and stylistic excellence. Created to amplify the performance of the engine, the new system delivers a direct and authentic sound that mirrors the GT2 Stradale’s sporty character and Maserati’s deep roots in motorsport. With this new system, Maserati Corse reaffirms its role in the development of high-performance solutions.

Moreover, on the same track as the legendary Hillclimb, two different interpretations of Maserati competed in a perfect alternation of dynamic refinement and extreme power. Under the spotlight, the new GranCabrio 490 hp, sporting a refined Verde Giada livery, with perforated Ice top grain leather interiors, powered by a 3.0 litres V6 Nettuno Twin Turbo engine, the GranCabrio reaches a top speed of 300 km/h and can sprint from 0 to 100 kmph in just 4 seconds.

Crowning the event, the exclusive MCXtrema made its debut at the event, showing a spectacular Blue Xtrema livery. Homologated for track use only and limited to just 62 units, the MCXtrema is a true racing beast, equipped with a V6 3.0-litre twin-turbo derived from Nettuno producing 740 hp of pure power for an extreme driving experience.

Goodwood 2025 thus comes to a close under the unmistakable sign of the Trident, which stole the show with the world premiere of MCPURA, the introduction of the new racing exhaust, and the presence of its most striking models both in the Super Paddock and on the challenging Hillclimb, defining Maserati’s unique interpretation of high-performance luxury.

It was an exclusive top-class stage perfectly aligned with the Year of the Trident celebrations for the famous logo designed 100 years ago: an enduring symbol of Maserati’s global excellence. A journey that will culminate in the centenary of Maserati’s first racing victory, when the Tipo 26 (the first car with a Trident on its hood) won the Targa Florio in 1926 with Alfieri Maserati behind the wheel.
An anniversary that honours the brand’s glorious past while reaffirming Maserati’s ongoing commitment to a future of excellence, innovation, and authentic Italian spirit.

Maserati GT2 Stradale Debuts On The Road

After its world premiere on August 16 at “The Quail” during California’s Monterey Car Week, the Maserati GT2 Stradale is finally on the road and ready to hit the market, starting in Europe in April.

The debut of the road-legal version of the GT2 that took the House of the Trident back to the track in the closed-wheel championships was christened in Andalusia with a driving experience dedicated to the main stakeholders and customers worldwide. They had the opportunity to test its mettle both on roads out of town and on the track, to emphasise both the souls of the super sports car: racing DNA and the comfort typical of the House of the Trident.

From the charming city of Marbella, the test drive route wound its way through the panoramic curves of the Parque Nacional Sierra de las Nieves to arrive at the private Ascari circuit near Ronda, the pearl of Andalusia. The 5,425 metres of the track named after the Italian Formula 1 world champion driver – who also raced with Maserati – recall the brand’s iconic heritage.

Indeed, Maserati boasts a long and glorious sporting history. When the brand started work on the MC20 project, the halo car that marked the beginning of a new era for the House of the Trident, it had already decided to return to the track. This philosophy and the brand’s racing DNA resulted in the Maserati GT2, which took the Modena-based manufacturer back to racing victory in the Fanatec GT2 European Series championship.

The GT2 category is the ideal platform for Maserati’s sporting legacy to meet the desires of racing customer enthusiasts – private teams and gentleman drivers – in a project that forms an integral part of the brand’s motorsport strategy to take it back to the podium in competitions.

GT2 Stradale is a car rooted on the track and type-approved for use on the road, with the ability to combine the extreme, refined performance of the racing world with the option of uncompromising driving in the utmost comfort.
A car that can bring together the best of the MC20 and GT2: top speed of 324 km/h; the maximum output of the extraordinary V6 Nettuno engine has been increased to 640 CV (471 kW), 10 CV more than the MC20; acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.8 seconds, making it the most agile rear-wheel drive (RWD) in its category.

For the exclusive driving experience, the GT2 Stradale was kitted out in various liveries, created as part of the Fuoriserie customisation programme. One of the elegant pit lanes at the Ascari circuit was dedicated to the world of customisation, with the adjacent one telling the story of Maserati Corse with the GT2 forerunner on display.

Santo Ficili, Maserati CEO noted: “From the road to the track and back again: moving from the racing GT2 to its road version was a natural step, to epitomise our brand’s performance. With the road debut of what is the pinnacle of our super sports cars, we have created a perfect platform for the customers of this car, which has also been lauded by the media. GT2 Stradale is 100% made in Modena, a mix of Maserati’s two iconic worlds, those of elegance and racing. It is the upshot of the passion, dedication and pride of all the women and men at the House of the Trident”.

Production began last December at the historic plant on Viale Ciro Menotti in Modena. Maserati GT2 Stradale is available in only 914 units, as mentioned on the specific badge positioned on the central tunnel. The lettering “1 of 914” is an explicit reference to 1914, the year Maserati was founded.

Maserati At The I.C.E. St. Moritz

At the traditional and exclusive “The I.C.E.” event, to be held in St. Moritz, Switzerland on Friday, February 21 and Saturday, February 22, Maserati is ready to “break the ice” and play a leading role with its range and two exclusive world premieres, in the spirit of the “Italian grand touring” and the Trident’s performance.

Maserati is synonymous with Italian luxury all over the world: its iconic heritage and its cars’ performance will be standing out at one of the most glamorous events in the winter season, a showcase amidst the magnificent scenery of the famous frozen lake in the Swiss region of the Engadin, where collectors and enthusiasts come together from all over the world.

The I.C.E. St. Moritz is not only a competition, it is a unique event of its kind, combining culture, entertainment and driving in extreme conditions, serving as an unmissable opportunity for car enthusiasts, collectors and mere fans of the automotive world.

Maserati will be there at the 2025 event, accompanied by the Fuoriserie customisation programme, with two world premieres. All the spotlights will be on the GranTurismo and GranCabrio ranges, available with both an internal combustion engine and a 100% electric motor, with all-wheel drive (AWD) as standard and air suspension, to ensure the utmost performance without sacrificing comfort in full “granturismo” spirit, even in the open air.

The all-wheel drive will excel in driving activities on snowy and icy roads, demonstrating the technological excellence, great dynamic qualities and uncompromising driving pleasure typical of the House of the Trident, even in difficult conditions.

The Grecale range will also be invading the Swiss town, whereas the MCXtrema and the new Maserati GT2 Stradale will emphasise the brand’s racing and competitive DNA to complete Maserati’s inclusion in the event.

In terms of participation in the Concours d’Élégance, some of the brand’s iconic models – sporty and luxurious classics – will go down onto the frozen lake: a Maserati 6CM and Maserati 200 SI will bring out their iconic design amidst the reflections in the snow and ice.

The abbreviation “I.C.E.” indeed refers to the winter magic and the surface of the snow-covered lake where the event takes place, but is also an acronym for “International Concours of Elegance”, where classic Maserati cars will tell the Trident’s story.
