The new BMW F 450 GS launched in India

BMW Motorrad India launched the new BMW F 450 GS in India at an ex-showroom price of  INR      4,70,000. The highly anticipated motorcycle is available for booking throughout the BMW Motorrad India dealer network with deliveries starting from June 2026. The BMW F 450 GS has been developed in Germany by BMW Motorrad and will be locally produced in India.

A GS stands for “best buddy” on and off-road and the BMW F 450 GS truly embodies the essence of a GS – get on, twist the throttle, have fun – with full control and maximum confidence.

Design of the new BMW 450 GS expresses a rugged yet refined adventure character, blending compact proportions with purposeful surfaces. The iconic ‘GS’ design philosophy carries itself to the newest member of the GS family. The first unmistakable GS design feature in the front look is the ‘X’ shaped full LED headlight. The characteristic flyline runs from the front ‘beak’ across to the tank and seat and continues to the slim rear. The familiar beak is a mix of black while the side panels are in body colour. The ‘tooth’ typical of a GS is finished in matte Dime Silver metallic.

The bike comes with a two-piece seat (845 mm) as standard. With its flat, straight design, it provides ideal ergonomic conditions for comfort and dynamics for most riders. The body and the 14-litre tank underneath are designed to provide optimal support and a good knee fit when sitting or riding off-road in a standing position.

The Base and Exclusive variants are available in Cosmic Black Colour scheme while the GS Trophy variant is presented in Racing Blue Metallic with accents in red and white. The tank center cover on the GS Trophy variant is in Snaefell white and on all other variants it’s matt black. The tank side panel is painted in the respective variant colour.

The BMW F 450 GS comes with lightweight yet robust cast aluminum wheels. The bike is fitted with tubeless tires for road and off-road use, sized 100/90-19 at the front and 130/80-17 at the rear. The front wheel features a floating single-disc brake with a Brembo 4-piston fixed caliper and a 310 mm brake disc diameter for efficient, stable deceleration. A single disc brake with 1-piston floating caliper and 240 mm diameter is used on the rear wheel.

The newly developed chassis of the BMW F 450 GS relies on a welded tubular steel frame with integrated forged parts. This design combines low weight with high robustness, thus meeting the demands of both dynamic road riding and demanding off-road passages. The front wheel is guided via upside-down telescopic forks, while the rear wheel is guided via an aluminum hollow cast double-armed swinging arm with a central spring strut featuring progressive damping. The stanchions are in gold finish, as is the tapered aluminum handlebar. The fork bridge is forged. The suspension strut spring features adjustable preload and rebound damping.

The new BMW F 450 GS is powered by a newly developed two-cylinder inline engine that boasts an outstanding powertrain for dynamic riding pleasure. Its liquid-cooled engine produces a maximum output of 48 hp at 8,750 rpm and a maximum torque of 43 Nm at 6,750 rpm. The lightweight, powerful, high-torque and smooth-running engine is installed transversely in the direction of travel. Unique to the motorcycle market, it features a crankshaft offset by 135 degrees which makes every ride extremely smooth, with hardly any vibrations while also providing a thrilling, offbeat exhaust note.

The newly designed six-speed transmission transmits torque to the drive via an X-ring chain. A clear highlight is the bike’s clutchless operation, thanks to Shift Assistant Pro. It performs smooth, almost imperceptible gear shifts. At any time, in any gear, the transmission collaborates perfectly with the engine.

Easy Ride Clutch (ERC), a segment-first highlight, is a further development of a centrifugal clutch which automates starting and stopping without any stalling. In combination with Shift Assistant Pro, the ERC is a complete game changer. ERC handles low-speed engagement, whereas Shift Assistant Pro handles upshifts and downshifts, together offering a fully automated-like experience.

To ensure pure motorcycling in every scenario, the BMW F 450 GS offers four riding modes: ‘Rain’, ‘Road’, ‘Enduro’ and ‘Enduro Pro’. The ‘Enduro Pro’ mode is specially designed for off-road use with rough terrain tires. Wheelie control and rear wheel ABS are deactivated in this mode while DTC and throttle response can be customized.

A range of standard safety equipment ensures rider safety on all adventures. ABS Pro offers increased safety when braking in curves by enabling ABS-assisted braking while leaning. Dynamic Brake Control offers increased safety when braking, even in difficult situations, by preventing unintentional throttle application. The Engine Drag Control prevents the rear wheel from locking or skidding during abrupt throttle closure or rapid downshifting.

The modern digital experience of the BMW F 450 GS focuses on convenience, efficiency and supporting the rider with relevant information. The best-in-class large 6.5-inch TFT display ensures optimum readability, even under difficult lighting conditions. The ‘Pure Ride Screen’ and ‘Sport Screen’ displays are tailored to the BMW GS world and provide detailed information on DTC, braking power, and lean angle. The TFT display is linked to the multi-controller on the left handlebar, allowing for quick and intuitive operation. A USB-C socket in the handlebar area is perfect for mobile charging on the ride.

New Renault Duster Nationwide Deliveries Begin

Renault India has commenced nationwide customer deliveries of the new Renault Duster across India. The first delivery also coincides with brand’s inauguration of new’R store on Mount Road in Chennai.

Making the occasion special the delivery was graced by Mr. François Provost – Chief Executive Officer, Renault Group and Mr. Stephane Deblaise – Chief Executive Officer, Renault Group in India, handed over the keys of the first Duster to Dr. Arthanari Manickavasagam, a renowned doctor based in Chennai.

The new’R store in Chennai is a 1S facility spread across 4,500 sq. ft., including a 3,000 sq. ft. display and customer interaction area. Nissan Unveils All-New, All-Electric Juke

Nissan has unveiled the all-new, all-electric Juke at its Vision event at the company’s global headquarters in Japan, marking a major step forward in its electrification strategy in Europe. As the region’s electric vehicle (EV) market continues to grow, Nissan is building on its 15 years of EV leadership to meet an array of customer needs while navigating a complex and competitive market environment.

Agile, compact, and unmistakably Nissan, this first-ever EV Juke carries personality and emotion into the EV era, reimagining one of Europe’s most distinctive compact crossovers. It forms part of Nissan’s broader strategy to offer an electrified powertrain for every type of customer today.

Since its original launch in 2010, Juke has captured the imagination of 1.5M customers across Europe, reshaping the compact crossover segment with its daring and unconventional design. In a historic multi-city retail expansion initiative, Nissan Motor India Pvt. Ltd. (NMIPL) today announced the opening of 54 new customer touchpoints across the country in CY Q1 2026, marking a significant milestone in the company’s growth journey in India.

Continental Tires India Announces Leadership Change

Continental Tires has announced the appointment of Nevin Aslan-Özkan as the Managing Director of Continental Tires India, effective April 6, 2026. She succeeds Samir Gupta, who stepped down from his position on April 5, 2026 for personal reasons.

Nevin joined Continental in 2017 and held various leadership positions in EMEA and APAC in Mergers & Acquisitions and Strategy & Business Development. Since May 2025, she has served as Chief Financial Officer for Continental Tires India, steering the company’s financial strategy and performance. In her new capacity, she will lead Continental’s growth agenda in India, with a strategic focus on accelerating the company’s presence in the passenger vehicle segment.

Samir, who has been with Continental since 2012 and served as Managing Director since January 2022, is recognised for his leadership and contribution to expanding the brand’s footprint in India.

Škoda Auto India has launched the new Kushaq with ex-showroom prices starting at INR 10.69 lakhs. The new Kushaq redefines value, safety, dynamics and furthering its strategy of democratising European technology. The Kushaq is the brand’s first car under the India 2.0 strategy and has driven the company’s growth surge in India. With segment-first technologies like an all-new eight-speed torque converter automatic transmission, Rear Seat Massage function, and numerous all-new features and standard equipment, the new Kushaq follows Škoda Auto India’s strategy of making European engineering more accessible on Indian roads.

The SUV will now be available in three all-new colours – Shimla Green, Steel Grey, and Cherry Red, along with existing options of Candy White, Carbon Steel, Brilliant Silver, Lava Blue, and Deep Black. In a first, the Monte Carlo badge will be offered right from the start of sales, in keeping with the growing demand for this variant, upping the style quotient.

Easy to drive with a range of real automatics

Retaining its incredible driving characteristics and 188 mm of max ground clearance, the new Kushaq maintains its high-speed manners with the ability to take the beaten track. It is equipped with a segment-first all-new eight-speed torque converter automatic. This transmission is mated to the efficient, powerful and proven 1.0 TSI engine putting out 85kW and 178Nm of torque. This engine can also be had with a six-speed manual. Those keener on performance can opt for the 1.5 TSI engine with 110kW and 250Nm of torque. This four-cylinder turbo with Active Cylinder Technology is mated exclusively to the quick-shifting seven-speed DSG transmission. In the new Kushaq, the 1.5 TSI also gets disc brakes on all wheels. With this, Škoda Auto India continues its strategy of providing real automatics with the introduction of the path-breaking eight-speed torque converter and the proven 7-speed DSG.

Throwing light on the interiors of the new Kushaq is an all-new Panoramic Sunroof stretching across the vehicle, and dual-colour ambient lighting. The new Kushaq carries forward six-way electric seats with ventilation for the driver and front passenger, along with a Škoda sound system featuring six speakers and a subwoofer for an immersive in-cabin experience. It offers a generous boot space of 491 litres, expandable to 1,405 litres, enhancing everyday practicality. Yamaha Hosts First-Ever ‘Mega Mileage Challenge’ For FZ-S Fi Hybrid Motorcycle In Kolkata

India Yamaha Motor (IYM) Pvt. Ltd. hosted the Mega Mileage Challenge in Kolkata for the FZ-S Fi Hybrid motorcycle. The event aimed at educating customers about the impressive fuel efficiency delivered by the FZ-S Fi Hybrid’s Smart Motor Generator (SMG) Technology and its benefits. Organized in collaboration with authorized dealerships – Banyan Tree Automobiles, ATC Electronics Pvt. Ltd., Tanushka Auto, and Velocity Motors – the challenge witnessed enthusiastic participation from Yamaha customers, along with their family members who eagerly joined the experience.

The Smart Motor Generator (SMG) and Stop & Start System (SSS), optimizes fuel economy and as a result, also reduces emissions. These systems ensure quieter starts, electric-assisted torque for exhilarating acceleration, and engine shutdown during idle, ultimately conserving fuel. This hybrid innovation allows riders to enjoy longer journeys with cost savings and a reduced environmental footprint, making it an ideal choice for eco-conscious riders seeking high performance and efficiency.

Kicking off the challenge, Yamaha FZ-S Fi Hybrid motorcycles were fueled up before embarking on a dedicated route of approximately 25 kilometres starting from Vedic Village Resort and return to the same point. The route covered varied riding conditions, including city roads, urban traffic, and open stretches. This gave participants a first-hand opportunity to evaluate the bike’s suspension, maneuverability, braking, acceleration, and initial pick-up. After completing the ride and returning to the venue, the bikes were refueled to their original level, and fuel consumption was recorded to calculate mileage. As part of the engagement, Yamaha experts also shared insights on effective riding techniques and maintenance practices to ensure better mileage.
