After the recent success of their Valentine’s Day Brunch Meet, Eastern India Motoring Group (EIMG) was back with yet another beautifully curated event in the form of The Lake Club – EIMG Vintage and Classic Car Show which was held on Sunday, March 7, 2021 at The Lake Club, Kolkata.

Mr. Shrivardhan Kanoria, President – EIMG handpicked around 80 heritage vehicles and categorised them into ten different classes inspired by the world-renowned Pebble Beach and other internationally acclaimed heritage car shows held around the globe.

While each of the 80 selected heritage vehicles on display at the show came with considerable history and brilliant anecdotes from the yesteryear, however, worth a special mention, amongst the classes, was a Rolls-Royce Class, containing five immaculate Rolls-Royces on display that left the audience awestruck. Also present amongst the classes were the Fiat Users Club Of Calcutta Cars (FUCC), which is a brother group of EIMG, with some beautifully restored Fiats on display that tickled the nostalgic nerve among the onlookers. The oldest car in the show, and also one of the star attractions, was the 1925 Rolls-Royce Phantom 1, owned by EIMG President, Mr. Shrivardhan Kanoria.

Mr. Subhajit Kumar, Secretary – EIMG, said: “I feel privileged to be inducted as a Secretary of EIMG, a group which is so serous towards preserving the National Motoring Heritage. Our President is working hard for a noble cause and my involvement towards the same is humbly taken with pleasure. The Lake Club has been very generous and supportive towards hosting this show for EIMG, and I am deeply thankful to them.”

Mr. Shrivardhan Kanoria, President – EIMG, commented: “Such shows are the call of the day when it comes to enjoying this Heritage Vehicle hobby. I feel it as an integral responsibility towards this movement and hence put in my time and effort towards organising these events, throughout the year, for the benefit and encouragement of the Heritage Vehicle owners of Eastern India. For this show, I specially thank The Lake Club for supporting our endeavour.”

EIMG, a group of Heritage Car owners, is the labour of love of Collector / Restorer Shrivardhan Kanoria who founded the group in 2020 with the objective of bringing together likeminded individuals and providing a platform to its members to interact with each other, share valuable information, educate one another about the preservation of these timeless beauties by virtue of a WhatsApp group. Together with Rajiv Ghosh (Vice President), Subhajit Kumar (Secretary), and Avik Naha (Committe Member), EIMG President Shrivardhan Kanoria has been instrumental in organising notable heritage car shows/drives in Kolkata under the EIMG banner.
